Wednesday May 18@3pm:
Ndejje University v Gulu University,
Arena of Visions Ndejje
Ndejje University coach Musa Ssekago says his side will be out to bouce back when they welcome Gulu University on Wednesday, May 18 at the Arena of Visions in the Pepsi University Football League.
Ndejje University began this season with a victory over Uganda Martyrs University (UMU), Nkozi but lost consecutive games to Kampala University and Gulu University. They need to win this game (against Gulu) to stand a chance of progressing to the knockout stage of the competition.
“Gulu University narrowly beat us at their home but there were plenty of positives that we picked from that game and I am optimistic we shall also win our home contest against them,” Ssekago said
“Our group is still tight and anything can still happen so our focus will be on winning the game so that we brighten our chances of qualification,” Ssekago added.
“And since we are playing at home I am positive that will help the team in their performance” he added.
On the other hand, Gulu University coach Robert Omony is so far unimpressed with his side’s away performance and has urged his player to improve on the road.
“The last time we played away from home we were handed a big defeat by Uganda Martyrs University and the general performance from my team was not good.”
“It is something we need to improve starting with this visit to Ndejje. We already know their strength and weakness having played and won them in the first leg so we should be able to fight and get a win away from home,” Omony said.
Gulu are top of the table with six points from three games level on points with Kampala University but with a better goal difference while, Uganda Martyrs and Ndejje are third and fourth with three points although Uganda Martyrs have a better goal difference.
