Arua Hill held KCCA FC to a goalless draw on Monday, April 11, denting the latter’s dream to win the StarTimes Uganda Premier League title this season.
The draw means KCCA FC blew a golden chance to reduce Vipers’ lead on top to four points. Currently, Vipers lead the 16-team table with 52 points from 22 games compared to second-placed KCCA with 46 points from 23 games.
Vipers have a chance to extend their lead to nine points if they beat URA FC on Tuesday, April 12. KCCA will keenly follow proceedings in that match at Arena of Visions in Ndejje, with hope that URA beats Vipers.
However, in his post-match comments on Monday, KCCA coach Morley Byekwaso insisted that the title race is not yet over for the Kasasiro Boys.
“We still have seven games left and we shall fight on to the end,” Byekwaso stated after the goalless draw with Arua Hill at the MTN Phillip Omondi stadium.
Interestingly, KCCA will host Vipers in a top-of-the-table clash on April 19. It is a game that Byekwaso believes will decide the title.
