Uganda Cranes coach Sredjovic ‘Micho’ Milutin took positives from his side’s 1-1 draw with Iceland in an international friendly match played Wednesday, January 12 in Antalya, Turkey.
This was the first of the five friendly matches that the Cranes will in Europe and the Middle East until January 28. Micho was delighted with the result after the Cranes rallied to hold Iceland.
“We have learnt a lot from this game because Iceland has played in top competitions like the Euros and the World Cup,” Micho told this website in an online chat on Wednesday night after the Cranes drew one-all with Iceland.
Seasoned striker Patrick Kaddu scored the equalizer for Cranes after 35 minutes. The Cranes had conceded an early goal inside the first minutes.
Up next for the Cranes will be a match against Romania topflight club, Botosani FC, on Saturday, January 15.
By scoring in the game against Iceland, Kaddu vindicated his selection to the Cranes squad. Despite the fact that Kaddu is currently not attached to any club, which means he lacks competitive football, Micho picked on the striker to lead Cranes’ attack.
