KAMPALA: Kampala International University (KIU) has suspended bags inside the university and crowding at the university main gate.
KIU like any another public place, is accessed by all sorts of people from different places and with different motives. Considering the current terrorism threats in the country, the university is taking necessary precautions to avoid any security threats.
KIU is making all efforts possible to protect everyone within and outside the university. The office of the Dean of students in a statement announced that bags have-been declared a serious security threat to both students and non-students during this harsh period.
“Therefore, this is to inform all the students that with effect from Wednesday, November 17, 2021, security will not allow bags to enter KIU gates until further notice,” read the statement in part.
Only light transparent clear bags for books and a laptop bag with only the laptop will be allowed in the University.
