Mali v Uganda, in Conakry
Uganda’s preparations for the two crucial World Cup qualifiers against Kenya and Mali this weekend have received a major boost with all the professional reporting to camp in time.
Cranes coach Milutin Micho Sredjovic has a full house after nine of the ten foreign-based players he summoned have already joined the team’s residential camp at Kisaasi.
Skipper Khalid Aucho, who plays for Tanzania’s Yanga SC, is among the professionals who reported on time and is ready for the challenge at hand. The other pros on the team; Charles Lukwago (St George, Ethiopia), Isma Watenga (Chippa United, South Africa), Mathias Kigonya (Azam, Tanzania), Isaac Muleme (Viktoria Zizkov, Czech Republic), Timothy Awany (FC Ashdod, Israel), Bevis Mugabi (Motherwell, Scotland), Moses Waiswa (SuperSport United, South Africa) and Fahad Bayo (FC Ashdod, Israel) are also in. Algeria-based Allan Okello is expected today after connecting his flights through Dubai.
The Cranes must avoid defeat against Kenya and Mali to reach the final qualifying stage of the 2022 Fifa World Cup in Qatar.

Kenya, who are expected to jet in this morning ahead of the game, are already out of the race for the World Cup finals in Qatar after two losses and two draws in the four matches. The Kenyans are in third place in the Group E standings, with just two points. Rwanda are bottom of the group with one point from four games.
This leaves Uganda and Mali in contention for the top spot in Group E. Currently, Mali leads the group with ten points and Uganda are second on eight points. The two teams, Mali and Uganda will face off in the final match on Sunday, November 14 in Guinea Conakry.
The group winner will advance into the two-legged qualifiers from which Africa will get the five representatives at the World Cup finals in Qatar next year.
