KAMPALA: The Uganda Police has confirmed one person dead in a bomb blast at Digida eating joint in Komamboga, North of Kampala.
A police statement indicated that atleast seven people injured in the blast had taken to Mulago National Referral Hospital.
A young lady died in the incident, AIGP Asan Kasingye reported on his twitter handle.
According to Police spokesman, Fred Enanga, investigations were underway to establish the source of the bomb that went off at around 9 at the eating joint, located in Kawempe Division.
The Saturday bomb blast happened a few days after the UK government had issued Uganda Police a statement warning the Uganda Security Agencies that terrorists could carry out an attack in Uganda.

The UK warning was calling on their Nationals [living in Uganda] to be extremely vigilant about their security “especially in crowded and public places like hotels, transport hubs, restaurants and bars, and during major gatherings like sporting or religious events”.
Digida eating Joint is a restaurant located in Komamboga parish in Uganda’s capital, Kampala.
By Sunday Morning, It was still not clear who carried out the assault in Komamboga. Fred Enanga, has asked the public to remain calm as security establishes the true circumstances surrounding the incident.
